The following are general installation tips
Default/Standard Directories for instalation of Lawson version 7.0.x:

$GENDIR=/lawson/L70/gen
$LAWDIR=/lawson/L70/law
$LADBDIR=/lawson/L70/DB
$TMPDIR=/tmp or /var/tmp or /lawson/L70
$COBDIR=/opt/cobol
The /lawson directory should be placed at a mount point where there is plenty of room for the entire Lawson application suite using the guidelines below:

Each individule directory can be it's own mount point. Please follow the following guidelines:

General guidelines for disk space (please send an email if you find different)
GENDIR needs at least 400MB
LAWDIR needs at least 500MB (for 1 product line, each additional product line will need about the same)
LADBDIR will need 350MB for the GEN database with 1 product line and will vary with use (using LADB or Enterprise RDBMS, RDBMS will use very, very little space in this directory).
For each additional product line you plan on having you'll need to add about 200MB to this directory.
TMPDIR will need to be at least the size of your largest file in Lawson
COBDIR needs at least 70MB
