Apply all aptches as they become available.

Reality:

You install the patches into your test data area, have the users test them, and move them into production. This would be easy (ok tolerable) if you didn't have anything else to do but you just finished month end and your two weeks behind and your inbox is filling up. The users didn't test any of that last batch and that one patch that didn't match the code needs 6 others done first and, what do you know, another one just showed up. At this stage it is probably in yours and the company’s best interest to just give up.
